On the Bookshelf:
From two of San Francisco’s celebrated interior designers, these books are on their way, and I look forward to adding them to my library.
Grant K Gibson: The Curated Home
Jay Jeffers: Be Bold
Open houses, parade of homes, decorator’s showcase… I love the opportunity to see the inside of a house I have admired from the outside, envision what I would do to a house on the market, or admire the great work of fellow interior designers. Next month, the West Coast has two great opportunities to view homes.
JLSF Home Tour
The Junior League of San Francisco’s 24th Annual Home Tour takes place Saturday, October 27th. Every year, I love to see the homes in the different neighborhoods of San Francisco, and this year the tour happens to take place in Noe Valley. My neighborhood.
LA Home Tour
If you happen to be in Southern California, Dwell on Design’s LA Home Tour takes place in Malibu on Saturday, October 20th.
The San Francisco Fall Arts and Antiques Show
In its 37th year, the Fall Arts and Antiques Show takes place October 11-14. Focusing on The Sun, the Moon and the Stars, this year’s exhibitors will showcase celestial imagery in art, antiques and design.
Seymour Fixed Chandelier
Arterior’s new light fixture of golden thorns and branches – I love it for obvious reasons.
Color of the Year:
This past week, I was able to attend a presentation of Sherwin-Williams’ Colormix Forecast 2019, revealing their 2019 Color of the Year: Cavern Clay. As part of the Wanderer palette, Cavern Clay represents the explorer on endless journeys and adventures. It is influenced by the Southwest, Georgia O’Keefe, and the carefree bohemian or modern cowgirl.

Last week, I shared Artistic Tile’s review of the natural stone used throughout the Palace of Versailles. This week take a look at how the interiors of the Palace are used as inspiration for modern interiors.
